The memorable highlight during last night's 2011 MTV VMA's happened in the pre-show. Beyonce appeared on the "black carpet," hinting and eventually confirming her pregnancy. Later, cameras captured a joyous moment at the final seconds of Beyonce's performance, with her looking into Shawn Carter’s eyes as she rubbed her belly. With Kanye West playing hype man, Bey’s gesture transformed the usually stern looking Jay-Z  into the happy and proud face of an expecting father.


With the ‘Heir To The Throne’ already on the way, we can all probably guess this happy piece of news was known as Kanye and Jay-Z recorded  the song "New Day" featured on Watch The Throne. "Sorry junior, I already ruined ya, ‘cause you ain’t even alive, paparazzi pursuin’ ya, sins of a father make your life ten times harder." Jay expressed his thoughts of conceiving a child that would be born into a world of flash bulbs and red carpets. With the media predictably gearing for these following 9 months or so, one has to wonder about the pressure ‘Jayonce’s’ offspring is going to suffer. With two mega-stars as parents, normal will most certainly get thrown out the window once the birth certificate is processed. 


Jay never had a father that would deliver the talk every son needs from his pops. Yet, he was able to carve out his own imaginings of what makes a man, escaping the pitfalls of a merciless drug trade and subsequently became a man defined by music, defined by eventually becoming bigger than Rap. With a son, will Jay-Z Jr. be pressured to place his hat into the rap ring? Like Will and Jada’s kids, and all the open doors their silver spins provide, will Jigga Junior attempt to walk in the Big Homie’s footsteps?


And what if the baby is daddy's little girl, daughter to one of the greatest female-voices and one of the best rhyme flowers ever known during our pop saturated time?  Would she have more pressures pressured upon because she were female? Hov’s closing words on "New Day" echoes with reassurance that Jay would have the same passion as a father as he does for his drive to reach his first billi. "Cause my dad left me and I promise never repeat him. Never repeat him, never repeat him." 


Boy or girl, I’m posing the theoretical question: “who will have it harder?” Jay-Z's son or daughter will walk into a world of not having to worry about much as far as basic needs being concerned. They might be forced to walk within the ginormous footsteps the impossible. 


Good luck to the Heir, we wish you the best. Just know this world is filled with people walking around with microscopes looking to find faults. Remember your parents made mistakes, but at the same time worked god damned hard to make the right decisions.  Sacrifices were made so that you could have the choices only a handful of us could ever have. Find that balance and be great, live great. Right now, we’ve already watched the throne, now it’s time to watch the Heir.

FIRST OF ALL, MTV HASN'T HAD MUSIC VIDEOS ON IT SINCE CASSANDRA SANTIAGO JERKED ME OFF UNDER THE TABLE IN SOPHOMORE BIOLOGY B. SO IDK WHY THE FUCK THEY DOING VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS. MTV GIVING OUT AWARDS FOR MUSIC IS LIKE FOX NEWS GIVING OUT AWARDS FOR INTEGRITY IN JOURNALISM B. MTV NEED TO BE GIVING OUT PRESCRIPTIONS TO VALTREX AND KARDASHIAN PREPAID CREDIT CARDS INSTEAD OF "MOONMEN" B, THAT WOULD BE MORE AUDIENCE APPROPRIATE. I WOULD LOVE TO HOST THAT SHIT WITH A SUPER SOAKER FULL OF BLEACH AND CAT URINE.

IF I WERE TO RUN DOWN ALL THE FUCKERY THAT WENT ON IN THIS COUPLE HOURS OF TELEVISION I WOULD NEED TWO WEEKS AND 3 TERRABYTES.
