Kelly said the starlets don't bother to falsify the match, leaving his images of Hollywood and using actual drills. "We fought to kill, because unfortunately, when girls fight, fight to kill, and that was very true and real in our struggle." We did our own stunts. We were quite struck by the end of it, "he admitted."

2 Live Crew's Uncle Luke Running for Miami Mayor
"I think we can stimulate the economy with a tax on strippers."
In his time on this planet, the rapper, party promoter, and former 2 Live Crew member Luther Campbell (otherwise known as Uncle Luke and Luke Skyywalker) has run record labels, established Southern rap as a commercial force, and taken on the Supreme Court. He's also one of the raunchiest rappers in the history of the genre. And now he's got a new goal on the horizon: He wants to be the next mayor of Miami-Dade County.
In an interview with the Miami New Times (where he also writes a column), Campbell talks about why he wants to be mayor: "Why is our government only serving one set of people? That's what is pushing me to run." He also announced some of his policies, including gated communities in inner-city neighborhoods, slashing the county budget, and raising taxes. He even proposes a tax on strippers, which doesn't sound like the Luke I know. ("Even though all my stripper friends are gonna be mad at me, I think we can stimulate the economy with a tax on strippers. They make all this money and don't pay taxes.") He also suggests that he can win Latino votes because he discovered Pitbull.

Pitchfork recently spoke with Slug about the new album; check for that interview early next week.

Right around the time the new year flipped over, M.I.A. released the Vicki Leekx mixtape, a continuous half hour of paranoid party anthems. And on her Twitter today, M.I.A. has posted some visual companions for the mixtape.
When posting that photo above, M.I.A. wrote in typical M.I.A. style, "vicki leekx home made wardrobe ! ill explain later! u likeeeee isss niccce , its cheeep u buuuy !!! i got coooloooouuurrrrr many many ..." I'd like to imagine that she's dressing as the character of Vicki Leekx, the robotic host that occasionally shows up during the mixtape.
M.I.A. also posted a panel of Vicki Leekx logos and a video for the first 10 minutes of the mix, which you can watch below. The video combines M.I.A.'s recent kaleidoscopic internet-overload video style with genuinely unnerving WikiLeaks-style footage of third-world cityscapes and shit blowing up.

Washington City Paper reports that Brendan Majewski, former bassist for the Washington, DC band outfit Quix*o*tic, committed suicide on January 20 in New York City. He was 37 years old. (Via the Daily Swarm.)
Majewski's musical career began in the late 1990s as a member of the Baltimore band Murder. While in that band, he met Mira Billotte (now of White Magic) at the Maryland Institute College of Art and formed Quix*o*tic in 1998 with Mira and her sister Christina (formerly of Bratmobile, Autoclave and Slant 6). The band combined elements of doo-wop and early R&B with spartan post-punk affectations, as demonstrated on their cover of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles' 1961 single "What's So Good About Goodbye", which you can hear below.
The band self-released a single, "Heliotrope", as well as a full-length produced by Fugazi's Guy Picciotto, Night for Day, before Majewski left the band in 2001. (They later recruited Orthrelm's Mick Barr and signed to Kill Rock Stars.) Majewski later went on to form the metal-leaning NYC outfit Orphan. Check out audio and video of some of Majewski's work with Quix*o*tic and Orphan below.

"I love you, and let's go" told Weezy Baby as soon as he was released on Thursday. By Mawuse Ziegbe

Cash Money Birdman head was one of the first people like Lil Wayne House from his prison bid Thursday, and the man who Weezy calls his "son" said that their first post-jail conversation was about expressing love and living it up.
"We had Mrs Cita, his mommy with us, [and] we let him embrace mama first" Birdman told Los Angeles radio personality Big Boy on Thursday after Wayne was released. Beyonce said the superstar that MC told him, "I love you and let's go. I am ready to go. I want to go to dinner, I want to go relax, I like seeing the family. And after that we gon ' do what we do, we gonna pop bottles and watching these models. "
Beyonce also expressed his feelings about having Wayne back in the Young Money/Cash Money folding, and a higher power thanked for Weezy return.
"I just looked at it as," Wow, man.God is great, ' "he said."Almighty did. I see nothing else.It is [a] exciting feeling.I know where we came from and I know where it comes from and we'll keep our faith and belief in God and keep working hard. We gonna keep trying to get more and more goals."
In October was Birdman opened to MTV News about how the camp YMCMB kept up in the Weezy lack, and of the MC prison bid said an unforeseen wrench in the crew masterplan.
"Everyone just hard work, energetic about him to come home," said the Cash Money head. "We worked, but him have gone-that was just a left in life. We didn't expect something similar but we had to handle it. "
The vet New Orleans added that he was proud to see the viral "free Weezy" movement take off and check out the careers of Young Money power players Drake and Nicki Minaj to the hip-hop stratosphere shooting.
"The" Free Weezy "campaign [has] been real natural," he explained. "The way Nicki and Drake is able to grow, but at the same time they ensure that even if their stars brighter get — even [in concert] they said: "when I say this, you say," Free Weezy. ' as a businessman you get to see two of your people grow. "

Lil Wayne was released from Rikers Island on Thursday, and while 3000 mile stood between him and Drake — the rapper was in Los Angeles for the next-to-last stop on his light dreams and Nightmares Tour — the power of technology they could again in more ways than one.
On stage at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Thursday, Drake told the crowd, according to a fan video posted on the Rap-UpTV, that he received a phone call from Wayne earlier that day and told their conversation.
"I said," Hello? " All I heard was on the other hand, ' yo. "[More] I said, "Hello?" All I heard was on the other hand, ' yo. " I said, ' Yo, who the f---is this? ' And all I heard was, "Haha, it is Weezy F. baby."I said, "it's good to have you back." He said: "--what the f is up?"I said, "I am ' Chillin', man. Finally made it to the largest city in the whole muthaf---' world."... He said: "I'm in New York with the family", but he said: "you think they still love Lil Wayne there in La? 'I said, "Because I'll see you in a few days, instead of telling you the obvious answer to that question, I'mma just show how much they love you.""
Then The crowd erupted in chants of "Weezy," as Drake a handheld camera turned on them, filming of the reaction of the audience, maybe later to see Lil Wayne. "La, I'm going to keep this camera on, "he told the crowd."I know for a fact that Lil Wayne can't wait to come back to La and the conclusion of this place. so this next song is in honor of the fact that he will be right at home."
The Toronto MC closes his 24-date tour Saturday in Las Vegas at the joint.Drake recently told MTV News reunification with Wayne in Sin City was plausible. "I would just advise you to book a ticket there, "he said."If you can get tickets to this show on the 6th, I would strongly recommend it. "
