The star power of the forthcoming American Music Awards just got kicked up a notch — or 20. in addition to the previously announced performance of Christina Aguilera, will the 21 november show at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles the debut AMA performances by three of the hottest young stars of music function.
Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Ke $ ha all will occur on the show in addition to a roster of veteran acts including Bon Jovi, pink and Usher.A whole, all three newbies also nominated for the artist of the year, a category that heavy-hitters Eminem and Lady Gaga as well as functions.Em and Lady Antebellum lead all nominees with five apiece.
"As a small town kid from Canada, I never thought I would be nominated for AMA 's, let alone on the show, performing" Bieber said, according to The Associated Press, who added that the 16-year-old claimed to feel "very humbled and honored" by the invitation to play the show.
More presenters and performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
"Justin, Katy and Ke $ ha have been at the top of the charts all year long; we are happy to see each of them make their own AMA history," AMA producer Larry Klein said in a statement announcing the additions. Bieber has been nominated in four categories of General, while Ke $ ha and Perry for three awards.
Winners will be determined by online voting on ama.abc.com.
