-- The Associated Press reports that Marvelettes lead singer Gladys Horton died last night in a Los Angeles nursing home, where she'd been recovering from a stroke. She was 66. Horton co-founded the Detroit group that recorded hits like "Please Mr. Postman" for Motown.
-- Reunited Saddle Creek duo Azure Ray have released the new single "Silverlake". The B-side is a demo version of the same song, which the duo recorded with Sparklehorse's Mark Linkous, who died last year. You can hear the A-side at Paste.
-- Portland instrumental brooders Grails, featuring Emil Amos of Om and Holy Sons, will release their new album Deep Politics March 8 on Temporary Residence. Download the track "I Led Three Lives" here.
-- The annual star-studded benefit concert for Tibet House U.S. goes down March 3 at New York's Carnegie Hall. This year's lineup features the Flaming Lips, Michael Stipe, the Roots, Patti Smith, and artistic director Philip Glass.

Computers and Blues is the new album from British talker/producer Mike Skinner, better known as the Streets; it arrives February 7 from 679/Atlantic. As a sort of companion piece, Skinner has also released a new mixtape, Cyberspace and Reds. The tape features a ton of Skinner's fellow British MCs, including grime-era favorites like Kano, Wiley, and Jammer.
When Skinner first released the tape, you had to a few absurd hoops to hear it. Downloading the tape meant downloading Skinner's iPhone application, scanning a barcode on his website, and then scanning another barcode on a can of tomato soup. But Skinner must've realized that nobody wants to do that much work. Now, you can stream the whole tape at Bln.kr. We've got the tracklist below.

On January 31, Memphis Industries will release Rolling Blackouts, the new album from the British pop-collage crew the Go! Team; you can listen to the album here. As that release date approaches, the band continues to crank out music videos at an alarming rate. Yesterday, we pointed you toward new videos for the tracks "Secretary Song" (with Deerhoof's Satomi Matsuzaki) and "Super Triangle". Today, we've got two more Go! Team videos for you.
First up, there's the clip for "Buy Nothing Day", the band's amped-up collaboration with Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino. Cosentino herself shows up in director James Slater's clip, which hammers us with vintage-looking camera effects like it was the acid trip sequence from a 60s biker movie. You can watch it below. And below that, we've also got the clip for "Rolling Blackouts", via mtvU. This one has a completely different vintage look; it's a mini-thriller built completely out of evocative black-and-white still photographs.

Continue Reading ? Ducktails Raises Money to Release Panda Bear-Assisted "Killin' the Vibe" 12" Single Tweet
Ducktails is the lo-fi bedroom-pop solo project of Real Estate guitarist Matthew Mondanile, and his new album Ducktails III: Arcade Dynamics is out now. The iTunes and vinyl versions of the album feature a version of the track "Killin' the Vibe" that features vocals from Animal Collective's Panda Bear, as well as contributions from Dent May and Woods' Jarvis Taveniere. You can hear that version of the song over here.
And now, as Chocolate Bobka points out, Mondanile's hoping to release the song as a single, but he's going to need help to do so.
In his effort to self-release the "Killin' the Vibe" 12", Mondanile is using the fundraising website Kickstarter to raise $3,500. (Full disclosure: Pitchfork publisher Chris Kaskie is an investor in Kickstarter.) On the page for his Kickstarter campaign, Mondanile writes that the proposed EP will include four songs: the Panda-assisted version of "Killin' the Vibe", a live version of the same song with the British band Spectrals, and two new Ducktails songs, "Sit Around With Ya" and "Couch Surfer". He's hoping to press up 500 to 1,000 copies of the EP.
For those that pledge, Mondanile offers goodies ranging from a 30-minute cassette of unreleased songs to a private live show as far away as Europe. Head over to the Kickstarter page to find all the details, and check below to see the Kickstarter video that Mondanile has made.

Video: Lykke Li: "I Follow Rivers" Tweet
In Lykke Li's new video for "I Follow Rivers", the Swedish singer, rocking a black veil, chases a man across a wintry beach. When she catches up to him, it becomes tough to tell why he was so eager to get away. The enigmatic clip, from director Tarik Saleh, is a patient and gorgeously shot piece of work, and Lykke Li has been getting awfully good at making cryptic facial expressions lately. You can watch the video at the Dazed and Confused website (via Some Kind of Awesome).

Catacombs, the last album from open-hearted singer-songwriter Cass McCombs, was one of our favorites of 2009. And on April 12 in the U.S. and April 11 in the UK, Domino releases WIT'S END, his new one. McCombs recorded the album in cities around the U.S., co-producing it alongside his Catacombs collaborator, Foreign Born's Ariel Rechtshaid. Above, you can stream the album's opener, the organ-drenched "County Line", and we've got the tracklist below.
McCombs and his band will be in Austin in March for SXSW, and they'll tour the U.S. this summer.

The video for Sleigh Bells' Treats standout "Rill Rill", directed by Jon Watts, just debuted on MTV, and it's suitably cool and creepy. Blood pours from telephones, switchblades are used as accessories for yearbook photos, and Derek Miller gets pushed out of a moving car. Fun for the whole family! Watch it below.

The video for No Age's "Fever Dreaming", a highlight from last year's BNM'd Everything in Between, takes place entirely within the course of one shot-- a pretty cool trick, but not even the coolest thing about it. In the awesome-looking clip, which was helmed by video auteur Patrick Daughters, Dean Spunt and Randy Randall take a load off, eat some food, and play air guitar (and drums) in a homey little space while everything in the room seems to be closing in on them. We don't want to ruin the surprise, but let's just say this doesn't end too well for the band. Check out the video below.
