Casual – Fiend For Hip-Hop Video

Fresh off a string of Rock The Bells performances and a free show at Highline Ballroom in New York City, Hieroglyphic crew member Casual is back with the latest video from his recently released album, Hierophant. The album, which includes features from features Tajai of Souls of Mischief, fellow Hiero member Pep Love, and Thomas Pridgen, former drummer of The Mars Volta, was originally released for free through Casual's Bandcamp earlier this year and will now be packaged and re-released at retail on October 18th.

Now, as Casual continues to push forward towards release, he's dropping a new video for fans, for the song "Fiend For Hip-Hop." A self-directed clip – Casual has stayed busy of late directing videos for a handful of artists in the Bay – "Fiend For Hip-Hop," as the title suggests, finds Smash Rockwell at his sharpest lyrically, spitting his verses while taking photos with a variety of video vixens.

Brooklyn, NY September 23, 2011
Brooklyn Bodega, producers of the annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, are excited to announce that the Red Bull Music Academy World Tour is stopping in New York City to celebrate the boroughs' most iconic Hip-Hop albums. Over the course of five days, five classic albums from the five boroughs will be revisited in discussions and workshops throughout the city.

From September 25 - 30 Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island and Manhattan will be the landing spots for each lecture and performance that will pay homage to arguably the most influential youth culture of our time - Hip Hop - right where it all began. At night, the artists will re-create their seminal work for a concert, bridging the gap from old to new school hip-hop.

Red Bull Music Academy has embarked on a World Tour going straight to the heart of today's most crucial musical movements, and taking listeners beyond the beat. New York City is one of 10 groundbreaking celebrations and explorations around the globe that will feature signature concerts, workshops, art installations, studio sessions and parties in extraordinary locations.

The vibe of the artwork feels like it was shot in a Chateu in Europe as Drake sits in fornt of some sure to be expensive paitings and drinks from a gold challace. We'll have to wait and see if Drake has the Midas touch and can go gold or even [damn near] platinum in the first week of sales like his boss Lil Wayne. Here's what Drake had to say to fans about the project when he released the cover last night on his OVO blog. 


Feels like it’s been so long. Is life moving so fast in this generation that when we desire something it begins to move in slow motion? Are we just used to getting what we want right away? Or do we require one another to feel right about all that is going on around us? Maybe our anticipation is justified by the fact that we genuinely cannot wait to share a moment again? Either way, your life and mine are scheduled to meet on October 24…I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
