Grinderman: "When My Baby Comes" (Cat's Eyes remix):

Nick Cave's sludge-rock outfit Grinderman has a new single coming for Grinderman 2 cut "Palaces of Montezuma", which will be released March 14 via Mute. The single will feature a remix of another album cut, "When My Baby Comes", from Cat's Eyes, the new dark-pop project from the Horrors' Faris Badwan. That doom-and-gloom take is now streaming for your listening pleasure above, via Anti-'s blog.

When you're a hardcore punk legend and you've found new life with a new band, where do you go? "Last Call With Carson Daly", apparently! Retrograde hardcore ragers OFF!, led by former Black Flag/Circle Jerks singer Keith Morris, released the BNM'ed collection First Four EPs last year. And last night, "Last Call" broadcast them playing at L.A.'s Club Lingerie. Since their songs are over in the blink of an eye, the show had enough time for them to play an entire four-song EP. Watch the video below, via the Audio Perv.

Interpol, fresh off their own "Last Call" appearance two nights ago, also showed up on the dial last night, playing "Lights" on "Conan". Check out frontman Paul Banks' new haircut! That thing is awful! Watch the video below.

Road-romance clip for "Big Wave"

The video for "Big Wave" from Rilo Kiley frontwoman Jenny Lewis and boyfriend Jonathan Rice's Jenny and Johnny project's debut album I'm Having Fun Now is over at Spin. In the clip, directed by photographer Autumn de Wilde, the couple throw on some cool duds, hang out in the dark, and do a whole lot of snuggling and coy staring. Also, there's some bloody-looking stuff involved, but this isn't Suspiria or anything, so breathe easy.

Sebastien Grainger on the reunion of the dance-metal duo: "Why not say YES to playing the music we designed to be an undeniable source of power?"

Tweet Death From Above 1979 Release Statement

When the Coachella Festival announced its lineup last month, there was one big surprise that had nothing to do with font sizes on the poster: Canadian dance-metal duo Death From Above 1979, which broke up in 2006, were reuniting to play the festival. Both members had kept busy since the breakup-- bassist Jesse F. Keeler as half of the dance duo MSTRKRFT, and singer/drummer Sebastien Grainger as a solo artist. But the reunion is real, and the duo have reactivated their website to release a statement about it.

On the Death From Above website, Grainger writes that it's been 11 years since they first played together, and anything with the number 11 in it seems like a good thing to him. He also offers some hints that Coachella won't be the end of their reunion: "Jesse and I have decided that what we can do together should not be denied. Together again, as was always the intention, as a collaboration. The collision of two different worlds. As this all takes shape, we will reveal it to you."

And indeed, they've already got a second reunion show booked. After they play Coachella on April 17, they'll headline the second weekend of the two-weekend Donaufestival, which goes down in Krems, Austria April 28-May 1 and May 5-7. The Donaufestival lineup also includes John Cale, Diplo, Laurie Anderson performing "Transitory Life", Owen Pallett, Wild Beasts, Mount Kimbie, the Books, Gonjasufi, Hudson Mohawke, Tim Hecker, Lydia Lunch, and others.

Below, read the full text of Grainger's statement and watch the video for Death From Above 1979's "Blood on Our Hands":

SOME WORDS

It's been 5 years since Death From Above 1979 played a show, 10 years since Jesse played me the first demos & 11 years since we sat in his parents basement and played so loud we knocked the china off the shelves upstairs. 11 seems to be a YES number for me. Though I am usually a pretty rational guy, if I have something on my mind and I see an 11 somewhere, I know I’m on the right path. It’s one of my last remaining superstitions. 2011 has a nice ring to it & if you’re so inclined, it may be the last year ever! So why not say YES? Why not say YES to Coachella? Why not say YES to playing the music we designed to be an undeniable source of power? Why not say YES to stirring up a writhing pit of sweaty humans? YES to riots! YES to heavy music! YES instead of maybe, and YES to make death your adviser and remind yourself always, that this is not a dress rehearsal. This is the big show.

Jesse and I have decided that what we can do together should not be denied.
Together again, as was always the intention, as a collaboration.
The collision of two different worlds.
As this all takes shape, we will reveal it to you.
All of it happening, as it always has, in our own way.
Thank you all for sharing in our excitement!

Yes.
SEBASTIEN

2 Live Crew's Uncle Luke Running for Miami Mayor

"I think we can stimulate the economy with a tax on strippers."

Tweet 2 Live Crew's Uncle Luke Running for Miami Mayor

In his time on this planet, the rapper, party promoter, and former 2 Live Crew member Luther Campbell (otherwise known as Uncle Luke and Luke Skyywalker) has run record labels, established Southern rap as a commercial force, and taken on the Supreme Court. He's also one of the raunchiest rappers in the history of the genre. And now he's got a new goal on the horizon: He wants to be the next mayor of Miami-Dade County.

In an interview with the Miami New Times (where he also writes a column), Campbell talks about why he wants to be mayor: "Why is our government only serving one set of people? That's what is pushing me to run." He also announced some of his policies, including gated communities in inner-city neighborhoods, slashing the county budget, and raising taxes. He even proposes a tax on strippers, which doesn't sound like the Luke I know. ("Even though all my stripper friends are gonna be mad at me, I think we can stimulate the economy with a tax on strippers. They make all this money and don't pay taxes.") He also suggests that he can win Latino votes because he discovered Pitbull.

The Family Sign arrives in April

Tweet Atmosphere Announce New Album

On April 12, the Minneapolis indie-rap powerhouse Atmosphere will release their new album The Family Sign, via Rhymesayers. It's the duo's first proper album since 2008's When Life Give You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold, though they released the album-length double EP To All My Friends, Blood Makes the Blade Holy last year. In addition to MC Slug and producer Ant, the album also features contributions from keyboardist Erick Anderson and guitarist Nate Collis.

Pitchfork recently spoke with Slug about the new album; check for that interview early next week.

Later this month, Atmosphere will head out on a short tour of their home state. To see the dates and hear their new local-pride posse cut "Minnesota Nice", check here.
