SYMPHONY X: New Album title, lyrical concept revealed

SYMPHONY X: New Album title, the lyrical concept revealed-29 January 2011 During a new interview with DJ JC green of metal Messiah Radio "Heavy Metal Thunder" Show, singer Russell Allen of progressive metal masters of New Jersey, That Symphony X revealed that the band has set "Iconoclast" as the title of his eighth album, due this year through Nuclear Blast Records.

When asked which phase of the process of recording, mixing of the new CD is in Allen, replied, "we are in post-production, so that the album is almost done. At this point, I'm being wrapped mixes and finalized and is off to bully and should be ready for release in a few months — surely the first quarter of 2011. We had the works of art all done, we're taking next week images ... all that good stuff. So everything is on track to release pretty soon. "

As regards the sound "Iconoclast" and how it compares to that of "paradise lost" 2007, the, Russell said, "sonically, is in the realm of one in a way, in terms of the sound of things; the guitar sound is a little different. Basically, the album is rather intense — probably the record more intense than ever, we did; It is chock full of riff — tons of great riff. It is heavy, music, singing, but it is very melodic in terms of its ... the choirs are real strong, the verses are real strong, but I'm singing aggressively — a lot of that course — why the topic is, again, very dark; you know, that's what we do. So the album very powerful. And, of course, we have a song that you like a little mini-epic, so to speak and is the lightest — a song of light, light, light. So there is a contrast to the record of a song that has that sort of ' Paradise Lost ' feel to it; It is a ballad, I think, if you want to call. "

He continued, "the album will contain a good body of work that harkens back to a lot of early metal — some early metal — and a lot of SYMPHONY X standard that guys you know already, and a bit of a newer sound, too, here and there — just a newer direction. Some of the sing, I tried some things more rhythmic sound that I heard that pretty cool, and some different things that I'm doing with my voice now that I'm a little more looking forward to what you will hear the music. It is only the next progression for us, where there are writers and stuff, but it's pretty intense — is way more intense than "paradise lost", if you can believe that. "

When asked about the concept of lyrical "Iconoclast", Russell said, "is basically just the idea of machines takes all this technology we put our company practically since our demise. It is a story that we were all very well, but we put our own spin on it. Is not a linear history in terms of ... This is precisely the subject of the record, so that all songs are in issue, but are not linked in any sort of story way — there is no character in any of the things that — it's just a theme. How [PINK FLOYD] "The Dark Side Of The Moon", is really only an issue of the dark side of the moon — a song deals with death, one deals with time ... You know what I mean? So is the same type of thing. I'm not comparing the two albums by any means — don't get me wrong — but in terms of the idea of a concept, so to speak, the concept is there, but there is a record of history — not like [2002] Odyssey ', where the song ' The Odyssey ' is that history. "

The full interview will be broadcast on "Heavy Metal Thunder" in the coming weeks.

SYMPHONY x will embark on a North American headlining tour in April/May. Support for the trek will come from NEVERMORE Seattle, SOILWORK Sweden, Boston POWERGLOVE and Mascalzone of Montreal. The trek will launch on April 21st in Philadelphia and wrap the 22 may in West Springfield, Virginia.
