Childish Gambino Signs With Glassnote Records

Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino has found a place to lay one of his many hats. The actor/comedian/rapper has signed his rapping skills on the dotted line with indie label Glassnote Records. The label houses Grammy nominated Indie Rock group Mumford & Sons.


"There's a tremendous sense of rock'n'roll about him, an irreverence and an authenticity... He fits in with our roster because he's alternative." Glassnote founder/president Daniel Glass tells Billboard. "Secondly, it's about how progressive he's been online: inclusive of his fans and very liberal with giving away music. He knows his audience."


We can sure expect some new material before this year is over. How this man balances everything is crazy!

The numbers are in and Billboard reveals the official first week numbers for Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV provided by Nielsen Soundscan. The tally is at 964,000 copies sold, bumping C4 all the way up to the numero uno album on the charts. C4 is the highest selling hip-hop album since Tha Carter III. WOW!
