The NBA Cancels First 2 Weeks Of The Season

The most basketball I've hoped to see as of late is NBA 2K12, hoping for a season has become almost nauseating. Today we received an update from the NBA lockout situation room and fans aren't going to be quite happy with this. David Stern announces the cancelation of the first 2 weeks of the season. 


Stern explains "With every day that goes by, I think we need to look at further reductions in what's left of the season... The gap is so significant that we just can't bridge it at this time... We certainly hoped it would never come to this."


Stars like Carmelo Anthony voiced their sorrow for the lockout tweeting "I just wanna apologize to all the fans for this lockout. Trust me, I feel y'all pain. This shit sucks." While Steve Nash took to Twitter to state, "The NBA has experienced over 60 yrs of growth with new growth projected using the current model. After a banner year the players are still willing to GIVE the owners a higher percentage in good faith. Why are the owners unwilling to negotiate in good faith? As a player I apologize to the fans that we're in this position. The players are negotiating to take less money & let's be clear that's not going to lower ticket prices, it just lines the owners pockets."


With two weeks crossed off the schedule calendar the window on the season continues to close.

Over the weekend, photographer Sunny Bak held her Boys & Dogs photo exhibition in Los Angeles, featuring rare photos from her time with the Beastie Boys during their 1986 "Licensed To Ill" Tour. To coincide with the gallery event, she released and sold a limited amount of custom Converse All-Star high-tops, featuring never-before published photos of the Beasties, on eBay.
