In commemoration of No. I.D.'s new post as Def Jam's VP of A & R and the success of Big Sean's debut LP Finally Famous: The Album, AlLindstrom.com and The Lost Tapes put together this collection of the producer's work over the years. AlLindstrom.com's Chris Moss had the following to say about the No I.D. and his accomplishments: 


"When the announcement was made that Def Jam was hiring No I.D. as the VP of A&R, it was a moment of personal satisfaction. For starters, like No I.D., I am from the Chicagoland area and it’s refreshing to see an often forgotten city in the three coast (East, West and Gulf) Hip Hop sphere have one of its most enduring and brightest stars get some much-deserved shine.


Aside from my apparent bias, No I.D. is a producer from an era -and ideology, for that matter- long gone in Hip Hop; but, he’s making commercially viable music and is arguably busier than ever in his career. He started at a time where a producer produced all or at least a vast majority of an artist’s album (see Common’s first three albums No I.D. produced for a reference). Similar to how DJ Muggs influenced Alchemist and bridged a gap between “old” and “new,” it was partly his mentoring, tutelage and talent that inspired No I.D.’s student, Kanye West, who took what No I.D. had been doing and introduced it to a global audience. Not letting his ego hamper the development of Kanye, Mr. West’s career took off! Don’t get it confused, though, No I.D. was not off the radar at this time as he teamed up with Jermaine Dupri and was co-producing records for Bow Wow and Jay-Z. After the American Gangster project, Kanye and No I.D. have joined forces once again and have gone on to make memorable records for Blueprint 3, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Watch the Throne. This ability to mentor a future superstar is but one reason No I.D. is a good fit to oversee those who are cultivating talent at Def Jam. This man was doing it when it wasn’t, so to speak, part of his job description."

After consuming some of that new peach flavored Ciroc, French Montana and his Coke Wave associates hit the stage at NYC's Highline Ballroom on Friday night to perform some of his hood bangers. The South Bronx rapper who kept the crowd engaged with his style of street musicm seems to be on the up-and-up as of late. Just last week he met with Kanye West in NYC and rumors have since begun to circulate that Yeezy's expressed interested in making Montana a member of G.O.O.D. Music. 


Sidenote: The fan screaming "Macaroni" at the 1:46 mark is comedy.

NFL Week 7 Recap: DeMarco Murray Breaks Out as Cowboys Blow Out Rams

Tony Romo didn’t throw as efficiently or gain as many yards as AJ Feely in their matchup on Sunday, but that’s because he didn’t have to.

As it turns out, those fantasy football predictions about Cowboys backup running back DeMarco Murray were dead on. The 23-year-old rookie finally got a chance to shine after starter Felix Jones was ruled out with an ankle injury, and he turned that opportunity into a 253-yard highlight reel.

For Murray, it started about five minutes into the game with a 91-yard touchdown run to set the tone. In his next 24 carries he would average 10.1 yards each, making every fantasy football owner who picked him up look smart.

For the Cowboys, the offensive explosion means they have a good band aid to patch up the backfield until Jones can come back and fill out a two-back set up that is suddenly a major threat.

The Rams, though, walk away with less hope than they had going into it, if that’s possible. It looks like they’ll compete for the coveted first-overall draft pick this year, with Feely trying to get them to their first win on the season while Sam Bradford is stuck on the sideline with his foot in a boot.

Murray will probably get the start again next week in Philadelphia, against a team that ranks 24th in the league against the rush. So if you’re the lucky one in your league, start him if you got him.

NFL Week 7 Recap: Pittsburgh Steelers Rout Cardinals, Keep Moving Through Easy Schedule

Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to take advantage of a weak schedule, hanging 445 yards and 32 points on a one-win Arizona Cardinals team.

None of that takes away from the deep threat that Mike Wallace has become. All year, we’ve watched Ben Roethlisberger look like he’s overthrowing anyone, only to watch Mike Wallace chase it down and turn it into a big play. He did the same in Arizona on Sunday, recording the Pittsburgh Steelers’ franchise record for longest pass reception with a 95-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

That was just part of Roethlisberger’s big day - 361 yards and three touchdowns on 26 of 39 passing - that led to an easy win for the Steelers.

But when you read between the lines, the Steelers don’t look much like an elite NFL team. None of their wins have come against winning teams yet, and the closest they’ve come to a win against a competitive team was their blowout of the 3-3 Tennessee Titans, who just got routed by the Houston Texans.

Speaking of which, the Texans are one of two winning teams the Steelers have played this year, each of which beat them. When the 35-7 loss to the division rival Baltimore Ravens is taken into account, the Steelers so far haven’t proven they can hang with the league’s elite.

Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb was able to record his best game since Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers’ fourth-ranked defense, completing 18 of his 34 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns. He even tied his season-high for a single pass play with a 73-yard touchdown throw to running back LaRod Stephens-Howling.

This isn’t to say the Steelers don’t have the potential to turn into one of the NFL’s most elite teams. They’ve got a great one-two for the passing game in Wallace and Hines Ward, as well as an every-down back in Rashard Mendenhall. Combined with their tight defense, the Steelers could give a lot of the league’s best a run for their money.

They just haven’t proven it yet. They’re next three opponents (New England, Baltimore and Cincinnati) are a combined 13-4, so they’ll have plenty of opportunities to do it soon.

Carson Palmer probably would have been better off staying on the sideline in his first game in an Oakland Raiders uniform.

The quarterback, who joined the Raiders earlier this week in the biggest trade of the NFL this season, was supposed to be a safer option than backup Kyle Boller to replace injured starter Jason Campbell. Instead, he played worse.

Boller got pulled after throwing three interceptions in the first half, including his first pass as a starter, which Chiefs safety Kendrick Lewis returned for a touchdown. Palmer threw another three in the first half, and while his 116 passing yards surpassed Boller’s 61, he also threw seven more incompletions than him, with just one more completion. By the end of the game, the more important score for the Raiders was quarterback rating:

Boller: 23.3
Palmer: 17.3

Even worse, the Raiders lost star running back Darren McFadden to a sprained foot in the first quarter. McFadden is arguably more important to the Raiders offense than anyone who has lined up under center, and while backup Michael Bush filled the role pretty well - 99 yards on 17 carries - the team won’t be the same with a goal-line running back playing every down alongside a quarterback who throws to the other team almost half as often as he throws it to his own.

The Chiefs, though, will likely take away a big boost in confidence in its first convincing win of the season. All signs show that it won’t last long, though. Quarterback Matt Cassell’s struggles continued in the blow-out win, throwing two interceptions and racking up only 161 yards. Cassell hasn’t thrown for more than 200 yards against a winning team yet, with his only big-yard games coming against Minnesota and Indianapolis.

And Jackie Battle, the Chiefs’ savior who was supposed to produce big for them and my fantasy football team, disappointed with just 76 yards on 16 carries.

Chances are Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers won’t hand Cassell and the Chiefs six turnovers on Monday Night Football next week, so they shouldn’t take too much pride in kicking the Raiders while they’re down.
